Jung-gu Home to First Monorail in Korea

Located on the steep slopes of the Sanbokdoro (hillside road), next to the Digital High School in Yeongju-dong, the Jung-gu District is home to the first monorail in Korea.
The monorail promises to bring relief to a part of the city that has long suffered from inadequate public transportation. The test run for the new line, which is 80 meters long and six to eight meters wide, began on May 13 and will run through to June 12. The installation will benefit everyone in the area and comes as a welcome change to climbing some of the steep staircases that criss-cross the mountainside, which previously had made it difficult for the elderly and disabled to freely move around.
To further improve the living environment of local residents, plans to extend the route along other parts of the Sanbokdoro are currently in the works.
