Busan City Operates 12 Free Bike Rental Shops

Since 2009, the City of Busan has been operating a number of free public bike rental shops for the convenience of residents as well as to promote their use as an eco-friendly, green mode of transportation. Now, a total of 1,177 bicycles are available for rent across 12 different public bike rental shops located in Oncheoncheon Citizens Park, Samnak, Hwamyeong, Maekdo, Daejeo and Eulsukdo Ecological Parks, Suyeong Riverside, Millak Water Front Park, among others. The number of bike rentals is increasing every year and rose from 177,000 in 2012 to 249,000 in 2013.   

  

To rent a bike, you need to present your identification and contact number. You can rent a bike for up to two hours. 


More detailed information including open hours and locations is available at http://english.busan.go.kr/04transportation/10_03.jsp.  Due to the weather conditions during the winter and summer months, the opening hours of the shops may be limited. 


The City of Busan also plans to provide bicycles for children as well as tandem bicycles.
