To create a clean, attractive and green Busan, the city is carrying out various green projects.

The Busan City Forestry Association (051-528-9148) opened a tree shop at Gochon-ri, Cheolma-myeon, Gijang-gun.  The tree shop (051-531-8506) provides a one-stop service by selling about 100 tree species - fruit trees, plants for landscaping, forestry trees, and trees for special uses – as well as fertilizer and landscaping materials, and will also provide advice on planting methods and tree management.

The City will operate a tree bank donation all year round. Those who would like to donate trees, please contact the GuGun district offices about the green project.

From March 15 through 22, 50,000 packets of flower seeds – for rose moss, garden balsam, aster, hollyhock, and cockscomb – will be given away at Busan City Hall, Gu∙Gun district offices and Busan Bank.

A huge tree planting event (of eight different species, totaling 6,380 trees) will be held on March 19 at 10 a.m. at a 28,000 green area around Hwajeon Industrial Complex, Noksan-dong, Gangseo-gu with about 1,500 participants including civic groups, students, civil servants, and Busan citizens taking part.

On the day of the event, 3,000 seedlings of jujube, persimmon, and pomegranate trees will be given away to event participants.

A city official said, “We will boost tree planting through various green projects to create a clean and attractive, ‘green’ Busan” and added, “We are calling for Busan citizens’ participation in this effort, by planting trees in their village, neighborhood or workplace.”
