Haeundae’s Dalmaji Hill, where most of the art galleries in Busan are concentrated, is emerging as a major cultural attraction.
Haeundae-gu District will hold the ‘Moontan Road Free Market’ every Saturday from March 12 until November from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. exhibiting and selling artworks of local artists at Haeweoljeong Pavillion on Dalmaji-gil.
A free market has already been held seven times, between August and October last year, and it was well received by local citizens. Consequently, the district has decided to run the free market regularly this year.
In addition, visitors can enjoy a variety of musical performances and other events with artists.
A ‘Free Market’ is one that takes place on an open space such as in the street or the park. Local artists exhibit and sell their artworks and citizens come to browse and buy them. It is an art market and festival all rolled into one, where artists and citizens can naturally communicate with each other.
