Busan City began in earnest to name streets after distinguished businesses/businessmen as part of its Street Renaming Project, in order to create a social atmosphere where businesses and businessmen can feel pride and gain respect from the public and to provide a business-friendly environment to attract more investment.

It is clear that this renaming will make Busan a better place to do business and have a positive impact on the city in inducing additional investment from new companies and becoming a genuine business city.

Contracting 600 billion investment letter of intent with Renault Samsung Motors in Noksan Industrial Complex in March 2005, Busan City designated a street as “Renault Samsung Ro(Street).” This movement received good response from investment companies.

Land Registration Office of Busan Metropolitan City will conduct a survey to see if companies based in Busan want to rename streets using their company names and have a detailed discussion. At the same time, the office will look for newly investing companies to fully promote the street renaming project.

After reflecting citizens’ feedback and deliberations by the New Address Association, the proposed street names for a business or a businessman will be finalized with the announcement of Busan City Mayor.
