Busan City has been accelerating its promotion of the 2006 Busan Motor Show. According to an official from the city, it will hold overseas promotions in China and Japan for its 10-day motor show (April 28 until May 7). Recently, working-level officials from Busan and the Office of Busan International Motor Shows visited Shanghai and Kitakyushu, holding promotions entitled “Busan International Motor Show” for international buyers and auto-related companies.
There were a flood of visitors at an exhibition on Mar. 9 in Kitakyushu, Japan, entitled “Korea, China, and Japan Auto Industry Forum", where the Busan International Motor Show was promoted and related brochures were distributed during the session. Kitakyushu is well known as a Mecca of the Japanese auto industry. Over 400 officials of major Korean and Japanese automakers participated in the forum, and discussed a variety of development trends, strategies, and auto-part alliances in the eastern region.
Busan City and the Office of International Motor Shows struggled to build networking of auto-related human resources among the three countries. Prior to the promotion in Japan, Busan City also held a Busan International Motor Show in Shanghai on March 7 attended by over 200 officials of the Shanghai local government, staff of the Association of Vehicles in China, and the Association of Auto-Parts Distributors in China. During the promotion, the Chinese press paid strong attention to the Busan’s auto-parts industry.
In addition, Busan City and the Office of Busan International Motor Shows plan to boost a promotion in Osaka, Japan on Mar. 16 by inviting auto industry-related businessmen, simultaneously heightening domestic promotions through public transportation and broadcast advertisements.
