Nurimaru APEC House Has Millionth Visitor

The main conference hall for the 2005 APEC conference, "Nurimaru the APEC House” became a national tourist attraction since opening to the public. It received over a million visitors in three months.

The city of Busan announced that the total number of visitors as of March 2nd is one million and 382 since its opening on November 20th, 2005. There had been just over 500,000 visitors in January, but the number of visitors doubled in six weeks to break one million.

So far, an average of 20,000 visitors come during the weekends, and about 6000 visitors come to Nurimaru during weekdays. The lucky millionth visitor was Mr. Lee In Cheol (38) who came for the first time with his family on March 2nd, around 4:18 in the afternoon.

Lee said, “I am very glad to be the millionth visitor of a place where the world leaders met. I hope that Nurimaru becomes a public cultural center where many citizens come and enjoy.” He also received a prize and a flower bouquet from the city of Busan.
