The Busan English Broadcasting Station and the BORN MEDI WOMENS Hospital will jointly host a BeFM Multicultural Children's Choir Contest on May 31 at 2 p.m. in the cultural hall located on the 9th floor of Shinsaegae Department Store in Centum City.
The Busan English Broadcasting Station, which has been striving to connect foreign residents in Busan with their Korean neighbors, is hosting the contest to bring Busanites and multicultural families closer together.
Busan-based vocal ensembles or children’s choirs from multicultural families or of multicultural and Korean families together are eligible to participate in the contest.
Songs to be entered should consist of children’s songs including traditional folk songs of the parents’ home country.
Registration is free of charge and will begin on April 15 on the Busan eFM website (http:// www.befm.or.kr). A total of 10 teams will be selected for the finals after advancing through the preliminaries in early May.
The BeFM Multicultural Children's Choir Contest will be hosted by the Busan English Broadcasting Station and BORN MEDI WOMENS Hospital and supported by CJ HelloVision Busan and Busan Women’s News.
A total of 10 official contest prizes will be awarded:
1st place: 1,000,000 won
2nd place: 700,000 won
3rd place: 500,000 won in gift certificates (two awarded)
Runner up: 200,000 won in gift certificates (six awarded)
