The Oryukdo Skywalk in Nam-gu has been gaining popularity domestically as well as abroad.
The skywalk, a place where visitors can enjoy one of the best views of the Oryukdo Islands in the city, opened to the public on October 18, 2013. Since its opening, the skywalk routinely welcomes about 2,000 - 3,000 people on weekdays and between 5,000 - 6,000 people on weekends. In particular, about 10,000 citizens and tourists came to view the sunrise on New Year’s Day January 1, 2014. It has instantly become the new hot spot from which to view this yearly event.

Last December, Hong Kong’s largest cable TV station, I-cable, came to film the Skywalk along with the Igidae coastal walking path as well as the tourist information center. The footage was broadcast in February and has certainly contributed to the skywalk’s popularity abroad.

The Oryukdo Skywalk can be found at Oryukdo Seungdumal, which is located on the southernmost point of Igidae Park’s coastal walking path. It is a U-shaped glass walkway that spans 9 meters toward the sea, making it seem as if visitors are gliding over the ocean. Visitors can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Oryukdo Islands while at the same time taking in the cool ocean breeze.

How to get there: Take local bus No. 27, 131 and get off at the last stop at the back gate of Oryukdo SK View Apartment.
