Former Coastal Railway Line from Mipo to Songjeong Opened as Walking Trail

The former coastal train route from Haeundae to Songjeong, which was closed in December 2013, was opened to the public as a walking trail on March 1, 2014.After continuous requests from citizens for the city to open the retired Donghae Nambu line from Mipo to Songjeong, the City of Busan in coordination with the Korea Rail Network Authority were proud to make this beautiful trail available to citizens after installing fences and CCTV cameras for citizens’ safety.
To celebrate the opening of the retired Donghae Nambu line, the Sampo Walk event was successfully held on March 1, 2014.
The trail, roughly about 5 km in length, will remain open until construction starts on the Retired Railway Line Redevelopment Project.
