The beaches of Busan are being spruced up for the busy summer season.

Haeundae Beach’s facilities are being dramatically expanded this year. With a total of 4 new shower booths, every kind of beach facility, including changing rooms, a make-up room, a nursing room, convenience stores, an Internet Shimteo, outdoor cafés and an outdoor stage will be installed at Haeundae Beach for the convenience of beach visitors. In particular, a new hot spring footbath opened near Haeundae Beach Tourist Information Center in mid-June. Tourists and residents alike will enjoy relaxing with a footbath while taking in the view of Haeundae Beach.

Haeundae-gu District has added 970 square meters of sand to the beach and to an underwater area just off the beach which was known for its strong and dangerous rip current.

To prevent businesses overcharging tourists, a price cap regulation and overcharging refund service will also be introduced for the first time on accommodation near Haeundae and Songjeong Beach this year.

A new marine sports facility has recently been completed at Gwangalli Beach and is scheduled to open on the official summer season opening day of Gwangalli Beach. The facility includes a changing room, a shower room and a sports equipment storage area. A 7-meter long mobile toilet and a U-Photo Zone, in which people can take a picture with Gwangan Bridge in the background and send it by email, will provide greater convenience and additional enjoyment for beachgoers at Gwangalli Beach.

A music fountain and a stage for marriage proposals will be introduced for the first time at Songdo Beach, and a Sunset Festival will be held every weekend at Dadaepo Sunset Fountain of Dream, by Dadaepo Beach.
