The confrontation between the Seoul Motor Show and the Busan Motor Show over an overlapping schedule ended up with postponement of the 3rd Busan Motor Show until 2006.

The Busan Motor Show will thus be held one year later than an original schedule.
According to the Busan metropolitan city government and the Korea Automobile Manufacturer's Association (KAMA), the parties concerned have recently agreed to avoid an overlap between the two motor shows by holding the Seoul Motor Show in every odd numbered year and the Busan Motor Show in every even numbered year.

The agreement was reached out of a cost and efficiency concern for automakers. The Seoul Motor Show started in 1995 and has been held, four times so far, in odd numbered years. The Busan Motor Show started in 2001 and the second fair was held last year. Both were originally scheduled in 2005 before they met half way recently.
