BJFEZ establishing a development strategy based on increased ties between the 3 countries

 

The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority organized and held its Korea-China-Japan Business Forum at the Paradise Hotel in Haeundae beach, Busan on January 28th, 2010.

 

The international forum’s aim sounded out a win-win economic development strategy based on increased co-operation between Northeast Asia’s 3 countries in the bid to become the center of international business and logistics. 100 guests attended the BJFEZA sponsored event-noted guests included Mr. Tamitsuzi Shuitsu, the Japanese Consul-General for Busan, Mr. Lee Kyunghoon, Executive Vice-President of the Busan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mr. Jin Kyung-sun, the People’s Republic of China Busan Consular officer and Mr. Morimoto Hiroshi, President of the Kyushu Economic Research Centerparticipants ranged from business people to academics from the Busan-Gyeongnam area.

 

Mr. Hiroshi of the Kyushu Economic Research Center deliberated on the need for an alliance of enterprises between the three countries while Busan National University’s Mr. Kang Sang-mok focused on the trends and changes of productivity in manufacturing and the relevant role the BJFEZ must play; Professor Kim Dong-ha of Busan University of Foreign Studies touched on the FEZs and their role in an FTA environment in Northeast Asia while Mr. Kim Nakhoon, editor of the Korea Economic Magazine discussed the active and competitive roles of the three countries small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

 

BJFEZA Commissioner Mr. Kim Moon-hee, called on Korea, China and Japan, all member countries of the G-20 to increase economic ties to enhance economic growth for the BJFEZ and Northeast Asia.
