Int’l port bigwigs coming to town in May

The 27th IAPH (International Association of Ports and Harbors) World Ports Conference which is known as the Ports Olympics will be held at Busan BEXCO from May 23 to 27.

 

This conference is hosted by Busan Port Authority, Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs and Busan City and the theme of this conference is Embracing Our Future -Expanding Our Scope. There will be work sessions, technology meetings, exhibitions and cultural events held together.

 

At this conference about 1,000 port experts and executives from 80 countries are expected to participate.

 

IAPH is an international organization where 90 country’s port authority, government port management departments, container terminal operators, port related manufacturing and service companies and organizations are members. The member ports of IAPH are quite powerful ports that handle over 85 percent of the world container traffic volume.

 

The academic meeting will be held under four sub categories as globalization after crisis, climate change and ports, port logistics and community system and city and port. The presentations will be made by 30 famous people in the port field from Korea and overseas.
