Volunteer group of marriage migrants to continue their volunteer activities this year.

The Multicultural Family Support Center at Busan City Women’s Community Center formed a volunteer group of marriage migrants in 2010. The 10 marriage migrants will continue their volunteer activities this year.

 

They will volunteer to bathe senior citizens at the Busan Senior Citizens Medical Care Center of the Salvation Army, every fourth Thursday of the month, and to clean the UN Memorial Cemetery on the first and third Tuesdays of the month.

 

The 10 marriage migrants completed a course about the role and value of volunteering and the true meaning of volunteering. The first volunteering activity for this year is scheduled to be the bathing of senior citizens’ on January 20, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Busan Senior Citizens’ Medical Care Center of the Salvation Army. 

An official of Busan City Women’s Community Center said, “The marriage migrants, who themselves received help from other volunteers when they first arrived here, are now eager to give back to the community by doing volunteer work themselves.”
