“We wish you and your family a very happy Holiday Season and a New Year filled with good fortune.”

Busan City lit the 2011 New Year Celebration Tower at the Fountain Square of the City Hall on December 21 at 5:30 p.m.

This 16 meter tall tower in the center of the Square is decorated with about 8,000 light bulbs on 9,000 strings and a New Year’s message in three languages: “새해 많이 받으십시오.” in Korean on the front, “Happy New Year” in English on the left, and '謹賀新年’ in Chinese on the right.

In addition, an LED bulletin board will be installed to greet Busan’s citizens with various New Year’s messages and to promote the vision of the city.

The tower will be lit from sunset until 1:00 a.m. every evening until Lunar New Year’s Day, at the beginning of February 2011, and will be illuminated throughout the night until 6 a.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
