Baekunpo Sports Park was opened on December 18. The public sports facilities, covering an 118,670 site, are located in Yongho-dong, Nam-gu. Facilities include three soccer fields, an inline skating court, four gateball grounds, three multi-purpose sports pitches, a foot volleyball court, and two futsal (indoor football) pitches.

The construction of the park began in 2001 with a total investment of 1.65 billion won and was completed this December. In addition, this March, Nam-gu Sports Center opened nearby Baekunpo Sports Park, so the area is expected to grow into a sports town where you can enjoy both indoor and outdoor sports all year round.

For residents who enjoy playing sports at night, Nam-gu district plans to install floodlights by the first half of next year.

An official of Nam-gu district said, “Baekunpo Sports Park includes a variety of public sports facilities for all - natural grass and artificial grass soccer fields along with a foot volleyball court, and gateball court”. He then added “We are determined to offer the best follow-up service and are eager for residents’ feedback to enable us to achieve better management.”
