During a seminar jointly organized by the city of Kitakyushu and the BJFEZA (Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone), the Authority signed an MOU with the Kitakyushu city government.
Some 80 companies, economic organizations including JETRO-Japan’s equivalent to KOTRA-Kitakyushu Chamber of Commerce, trade associations,consular offices participated at the
networking event.
The event was organized to establish a networking base with the city’s high-tech manufacturing companies to attract further Japanese investment into the Mieum and Nammoon parts & materials industrial parks within the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone. The FEZ’s parts & materials industrial parks opened in 2010 offer cheap rental rates and generous lease terms to foreign-invested manufacturers producing parts & materials across the industrial spectrum.
Kitakyushu is located in northern Kyushu prefecture of the Japanese isles and is a wellknown automotive manufacturing cluster including recognized Japanese brands such as Toyota, Mazda, Honda as well as Shin Nippon Steel.
