Korea to Develop High-Tech Cargo Containers

Korea's southern port city of Busan will see cargo containers go high-tech by 2010.

Real-time monitoring of cargo inside the envisioned containers will be possible a feature that can prevent major accidents during delivery.

A wireless device will measure the environment inside these containers like temperature and humidity.

A university in Busan will spearhead the invention, with a price tag of over US$11 million.

Ten million of these new containers are expected to be built by 2012.
