A four-day investment seminar will be held in Busan, the host city of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit next month.

The "APEC Investment Opportunities 2005" is expected to gather about 800 government heads, business experts, scholars and heads of international organizations from the 21-member APEC economies, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy said.

The event is scheduled to open Nov. 14 at Busan City Hall and is expected to help facilitate investment among member economies. Korea hopes to attract investors and use the occasion to raise its image as an advanced economy.

Donald Johnston, secretary-general of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development; Robert Mundell, professor of economics at Columbia University; and Meg Whitman, chief executive of eBay, will be some of the participating international guests.
