Second Direct Sales Store for Special Marine Products of Busan opened at BEXCO.

Busan City opened a direct sales store for Busan’s special marine products on October 30 at BEXCO in Haeundae. This is the second store after the one that opened last December at Busan Station.  

 

The store is run by the Busan Special Marine Products Council, which consists of 20 of the best Busan-based marine products companies (as designated by the City of Busan). It acts as a direct marketing channel for marine products such as mackerel, fish cake, brown seaweed, Korean sea tangle, salted pollack roe and seasoned laver, without any additional distribution costs.

 

The store’s presence will help promote the City of Busan as a marine capital and provide visitors and local residents with the opportunity of purchasing the freshest marine products at the best price.

 

A city official said, “A second direct sales store has been opened to promote the marine special products of Busan in and outside the country at the 1^st floor of BEXCO. This will contribute to an increase in sales of the products of Busan-based companies and an expansion of the market.” He then added that Busan was “not only exploring overseas markets such as China and India, but also planning to open more stores at train stations in other cities and in the vicinity of Seoul.”

The Busan Special Marine Products Council also operates a shopping mall site at http://www.marine1.co.kr for domestic consumers. (Currently only in Korean)
