Busan Christmas Tree Festival to be held around Gwangbok-no

The 2nd Busan Christmas Tree Festival will take place from November 30, 2010 through January 17, 2011 around Gwangbok-no, Jung-gu. Under the general theme of “Happy Busan, Christmas Busan”, for seven weeks and according to seven special themes – Vision, Happiness, Family, Light of Christmas, Love, Charity, and Hope – each week, by the giant illuminated Christmas tree, a variety of events will take place around Gwangbok-no. A snow show, a variety of cheerful street performances - dances, rock band performances and magic – will attract people every night of the festival.   

 

 

Visitors can participate at events such as a marriage proposal, Christmas tree-making, a photo zone, and various other events. To make citizens’ Christmas season more meaningful, people can participate in charity events such as rice donation, or coin collections for the needy as well. To commemorate the birth of Jesus, a birth promotion campaign and events for multicultural families and new settlers from North Korea will take place.
