Air Busan will launch a Busan to Xian route from April 3. The flight will be available four times a week. Xian is the second destination in mainland China for Air Busan, after Qingdao. Last year, on 42 round trip charter flights made by the airline to Xian, the seat occupancy rate was an encouraging 86%. The international route to Xian will be independently operated. Korean Air used to offer the route, but the service stopped in October 2008.

Xian is both a traditional and modern city. It was the capital of China for more than 1,000 years. Now, following China's rapid development, the city has become the largest industrial city in northwest China. In addition, it is situated closer to Busan than many other cities in China.
