A ‘Street of Cinema’ has been established in Marine City, Haeundae-gu.

An 800 meter long ‘Street of Cinema’ is now located along the coastal area between the Park Hyatt Busan and The Sharp Adelliseu Apt. in Haeundae.

As part of a special tourist zone revitalization project by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, construction on the Street of Cinema began in March 2014 and was completed this January.

Under the theme of “Play and have fun with Film”, it consists of three themed street zones: 10 million Audience Film Zone, Animation Zone, and Film Zone. There are also plenty of other unique things to enjoy such as a trick art photo zone, Santorini Square, sculptures, and hand printing.

Posters, movie still cutouts and stories about Korean hit movies as well as Korean animations, and films shot in Haeundae are displayed on the tiles and copperplates next to the sidewalk.

Santorini Square is located in front of Park Hyatt Busan and visitors will find a range of entertaining movie studio backdrops, including those featuring robot taekwon and spider man, providing a great photo opportunity. The square is also lined with 12 hand prints from famous Korean movie stars and directors, with plans for more to be continually added. Those looking to stop and take a rest can do so while looking out one of the observation telescopes located in front of Sharp Adelliseu Apt. and Santorini Square which offer a spectacular view of Oryukdo and Gwangan Bridge, free of charge.

A giant sculpture of a film crew holding a slateboard marks the start and end point of the Street of Cinema, while night lighting installed along the length of the street will ensure that tourists are able to enjoy the many beautiful views in the area at any time of day.
