Busan International Performing Arts Festival Organizing Committee accepts application of “The 10 Minute Open Plays” and “BIPAF ZONE performing teams” for the 10th Busan International Performing Arts Festival (May 3-12, 2013).
BIPAF ZONE located at Gwangalli Beach has been operated for the citizens’ outdoor performance since 2012. To mark the 10th anniversary of the festival, BIPAF ZONE performance will be expanded with more citizens’ participation. Without limit of genre and type of performance, all those who share a love for the performing arts and have dreamed of becoming performers can apply with a 40-minute performance. In addition, BIPAF ZONE teams will be published on the festival promotion brochure.
The 10 Minute Open Plays has been an integral part of the BIPAF starting from 2006. To encourage more citizens to participate in the event, the 10 Minute Open Plays will take place at BIPAF ZONE from this year. It has been held at the small theatre of the Busan Cultural Center until 2012.
The performing genre will be expanded to musical, non-verbal, mime, dance, conte, performance and magic. The 10 Minute Open Plays encourage the participation of all age groups as well as foreigners.
In addition, the award fields are more diversified to encourage more citizens’ participation this year.
The applications will be accepted until March 31, 2013 for BIPAF ZONE performing teams and until April 2, 2013 for the 10 Minute Open Plays.
