The Busan Development Institute has selected the ‘Top 10 Hit Products of 2014 in Busan’ based on recommendations from experts and trending keywords from this past year in the media.

 

Top 10 Hit Products of 2014 in Busan


1. Busan International Film Festival·Busan Fireworks Festival become Busan’s representative international festivals.


2. Busan Citizens Park·Song Sang-hyeon Square, Korea’s Largest Urban Square is opened to the public.


3. Samjin Eomuk, locally made, high quality fish cakes that are distributed nationwide.

4. Seolbing, a Busan-based Korean dessert café, becomes popular nationwide with its shaved ice (Bingsu).


 

5. Busan Harbor Bridge which connects Yeongdo-gu and Nam-gu opened to the public on May 23, 2014. The opening of Busan Harbor Bridge also completed the costal beltway, running from Geoga Bridge to the Gyeongbu Highway via Busan New Port, the Noksan and Shinho Industrial Complexes, Eulsukdo Bridge, Namhang Bridge, Busan Harbor Bridge and Gwangan Bridge.


 

6. Bupyeong Kkangtong Night Market becomes one of Busan’s new night attractions.


7. ITU (International Telecommunication Union) Plenipotentiary Conference, which was successfully held at BEXCO from Oct. 20 - Nov. The city’s hosting of the “ICT Olympics,” which was attended by some 3,000 delegates from ITU member nations and around 600,000 local and overseas participants, helped promote Korea as an IT giant.

9. Busan International Finance Center (BIFC) opened August 22, 2014, in the Munhyeon Financial Complex. It is expected to help Busan become a financial hub in Northeast Asia.


10. C1 Blue soju produced by Busan’s oldest liquor producer, Daesun Co., was globally recognized. C1 Blue won bronze at the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) this year.
