The
lighting ceremony for the illumination of the Seokdang Museum of Dong-A
University was held on March 3rd.
The
Seokdang Museum was built as the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Government
Building when the office relocated from Jinju to Busan in 1925; it was
subsequently used as the provisional government building during the Korean War.
It has been designated Registered Cultural Heritage No. 41. Currently, Busan City is seeking to register
the building as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
At
a cost of ₩500 million, 439 LED fixtures have been installed on the museum to
create beautiful nighttime illumination. It is expected to enhance the
building’s heritage value and become a new Busan attraction.
The
illumination incorporates lights and colors that harmonize with the heritage
surroundings. Special lighting effects using gobo projections will be
introduced for festivals and campus events.
