Non-Korean family members, who have until now not been able to apply for a credit card because of their nationality, will be able to obtain a credit card from this June.

Busan City has introduced a ‘Busan (BS) Multi-Culture Love Card’ for any non-Korean married to a Korean national.

Applications can be made through any Busan Bank branch and the required documents for signing up include the application form, the foreign registration card and marriage license. The various advantages of the credit card include TOP point accumulation, financial services commission fee exemption and prime rates for savings or loans. Telecommunications and vehicle fuel fee savings will also be offered to card holders.

As of April 2008, there were 1,856 naturalized Koreans and 5,431 non-naturalized foreigners through international marriage with Koreans. For further information, please call the Women and Family Policy Bureau at 888-3192.
