The 14th Geumnyeonsan Milky Way Festival will take place at the Mt. Geumnyeonsan Youth Center on Saturday, November 14 from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Local residents of all ages are invited to enjoy the fall weather and explore the night sky through astronomical telescopes. There will also be a concert by Busan Philharmonic Orchestra, an astronomy quiz, the screening of moving pictures about creation and the secrets of the cosmos, and lectures by Dr. Lee Tae-hyeong, the first Korean to discover a minor planet (named ‘Tongil’ in Korean) and by Go San, a researcher of the Korea Aerospace Research Institute.

In addition, visitors can enjoy about 20 side events, including making star necklaces and constellation key holders, watching a model rocket launch, and experiencing a movable astronomical observatory and air dome.

On the day of the event, a shuttle bus will run from Geumnyeonsan Subway Station (Exit 6) every 10 minutes from 5 p.m. and visitors are encouraged to use public transportation if possible.

For the safety and wellbeing of participants, the youth center will conduct temperature screening for all participants prior to their entry into the center and will also provide disposable masks for those who would like to wear them.

* Notice: Participants are advised to bring warm clothing as it may be cool in the evening.
