Busan's leading industrial complexes at Myeongji, Noksan, Sinho, Sinpyeong, Janglim and Sasang will be transformed into "Eco-Friendly Industrial Complexes." Busan City is aiming at making Busan's industrial complexes 'clean' through projects such as the recycling of waste and by-products, coexistence of industrial complexes and communities, and improving environmental issues, with a budget of 8 billion won from the central government for five years, starting next year.

The eco-friendly industrial complex project will raise the competitiveness of companies and solve environmental problems by turning all kinds of waste produced by the industrial complexes into resources and energy sources.

Busan City will organize the "Eco-Project Board" with the Korea Industral complexes and build a recycling network for the next 5 years. It will also seek the best way to reduce pollution and to recycle resources. Newly built industrial complexes will also be introduced to the concept of the "eco-friendly industrial complex."
