The Korea-Russia Cooperation Center of the Busan Foundation for International Activities is hosting an exhibition of paintings entitled, “Busan through the eyes of Russians” at Yongdusan Art Gallery from October 27 until November 9. The exhibition will display the 50 paintings of the prize winners of the Busan Painting Contest, which was held among citizens in the Russian Far East last June.

147 citizens and students in the Russian Far East, including Vladivostok (a sister city of Busan), participated in the contest. Photos of the beautiful views of Busan were seen by participants via the internet and they then reinterpreted the views, through their imagination, onto canvas.

‘Lighthouse in Oryukdo’ (by Lyapin Alexander, 22) and ‘Fireworks Festival in Busan’ (by Enin Maxim, 7) were awarded the 1st prizes in the amateur and student categories respectively.

Previously, special exhibitions were held in the Maritime Province National Museum of Art, Russia, last July and in Busan City Hall until October 23.
