One of Busan’s newest tourist attractions, the ‘Dadaepo Sunset Fountain of Dream’, which attracted more than one million visitors in its first 100 days after opening in June, 2009, will be listed in the Guinness Book of World as the ‘World’s biggest floor fountain of its kind’.
Saha-gu District will hold this year’s opening ceremony of the ‘Dadaepo Sunset Fountain of Dream’ and Guinness World Record Certificate Award Ceremony along with a variety of side events on March 27. The first music fountain performance of the year is scheduled at
The newly renovated facilities - stands that can accommodate 975 people and two large-scale hot air blowers – were set up for the convenience of the spectators. In addition, two photo zones and a 42-inch touch-screen monitor providing information about the tourist attractions in Saha-gu and the fountain performance schedules were installed.
Tourists can also purchase souvenirs such as T-shirts, mobile accessories and postcards.
The music fountain performance has been upgraded in various ways as well. This year, for instance, a fabulous fireworks show will be added alongside some of the performances, further enhancing its allure. At the same time, officials have installed new speakers that are easier on the ears, boosting the audio quality.
The Mayor of Saha-gu said, “The 2,519-square meter “Dadaepo Sunset Fountain of Dream” shoots water up to 55 meters high and is illuminated by 1,148 lights. Since its opening last June, the fountain has been attracting lots of domestic and foreign tourists and will be listed in the Guinness Book of World as the world biggest floor fountain from March 27. So, we are making every effort at this time to use this opportunity to promote Dadaepo as a new tourist destination representing the city of
