On the 11th Korea Footwear International (KFI) announced that they opened a Multi-Shop in Beirut, Lebanon to sell shoes made in Busan. The store will establish a bridgehead in the Middle East for exporting shoes. Their booth is 247.93 m2 (75 pyeong) and exhibits footwear made in Busan. In their Busan booth, they display the products of 12 shoe companies. The products of eight other brands such as Nike, Reebok and Adidas are also shown.

The Multishop is operated by KFI and is a joint venture with the Footwear Center. Local investors and KFI hold 51% of the Footwear Center. The Footwear Center plans to open franchises selling shoes made in Busan to further expand a presence in Middle Eastern countries. Currently Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar are interested in the center. A spokesman of Busan Footwear Center says that they expect orders from the Middle East and since KFI sells Busan-manufacture footwear, it will stimulate Busan’s local footwear industry.
