Hwamyeong Arboretum has become the city’s first public arboretum.

The Hwamyeong Arboretum Management Office announced it has registered as a public arboretum according to Creation and Furtherance of Arboretums Act and would provide various forest services to citizens, aiming at attracting 500,000 visitors this year.


The following projects to promote the arboretum are currently being carried out: 


Build cypress forest path

Provide tree information by QR code

Plant trees can view flowers all year around

Build photo zone

Build environmental friendly outdoor parking lot

Repair the zoo and obtain additional number of herbivorous animals


In addition, the enhanced visitor services will include woodcraft class, family-oriented nature experience program, and forest library will be operated.

 




The Hwamyeong Arboretum will receive financial support from Korea Forest Service for arboretum improvement projects and promotion of the forest experience programs.

 




The Hwamyeong Arboretumwas built on over 110,000 square meters of land at (Hwamyeong-dong) 299, Sanseong-ro, Buk-gu. It is open to the public from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. all year around. As the largest urban arboretum in Busan, the Hwamyeong Arboretum consists of 190,000 trees of 1,052 different species.
