This year is designated Visit Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam Year 2013 to revitalize tourism in the southeast region of Korea by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. On February 1, announcing ceremony for the Visit Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam Year 2013 was held at BEXCO. Under the slogan with ‘Just come on over’, the Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam (Bu-Ul-Gyeong) region will be promoted to domestic and overseas tourists with a variety of events and festivals throughout the year 2013. Bu-Ul-Gyeong region will revitalize the tourism industry collaboratively.
In addition, to celebrating Visit Busan Ulsan Gyeongnam Year 2013, Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam Harmony Explorer Group held its journey to attractions in the Bu-Ul-Gyeong region from January 27-February 1, 2013.
The Harmony Explorer Group aims to discover joint tourism courses in Bu-Ul-Gyeong and to promote the Visit Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam Year 2013 nationwide. The Explorer Group consists of 190 people including Koreans and foreigners who are interested in travelling, cycling, yachting and others. The group will explore the Bu-Ul-Gyeong region by walking, cycling and yachting separately.
The Explorer Group started a journey from Taehwa River in Ulsan on January 28, 2013. After touring Ulsan, Busan and Gyeongnam region for five days and arrived at BEXCO, Busan on February 1 to participate in the announcing ceremony.
The followings are their tour itinerary in Ulsan, Busan and Gyeongnam.
Taehwa River in Ulsan (Jan. 28) → move to Busan by tourism themed train → Moonlight walking in Mt. Hwangnyeong → walking along Galmaetgil of Igidae, Taejeongdae (Jan. 29) → Riding bike along Nakdong River Bike Path → Tour of the National Maritime Museum and Taejongdae area → Tour in Gyeongnam (Jan. 30) → Cruise tour by Nurimaru Ship (Jan. 31) → Promoting the event at Busan Station (Feb. 1) → via Gwagnalli → BEXCO for the announcing ceremony
A Busan City official said, “Two cities - Busan, Ulsan and Gyeongsangnam-do joined together to develop and revitalize tourism in the regions.
