Kakao Corp. moves into LG CNS Busan Global Cloud Data Center

Kakao Corp. which services the mobile messenger, ‘Kakao Talk’, moves into the LG CNS Busan Global Cloud Data Center (Busan Data Center).


On January 23 2013 at LG CNS headquarters in Seoul, Busan City, LG CNS and Kakao Corp., signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation with LG CNS Busan Global Cloud Data Center.


LG CNS Busan Data Center is the representative, eco-friendly data center that incorporated all existing green IT technologies. LG CNS Busan Data Center which was initiated in February 2011 and is now in operation having been successfully completed in December 2011. LG CNS Busan Data Center provides maximum stability for mobile data and provides differentiated data center services so as to enhance competitiveness of its client companies including Kakao Corp.


As Kakao Corp. moves into LG CNS Busan Data Center, the company enhances its infrastructure by operating in multiple datacenters. It will provide greater stability for ‘Kakao Talk’ and assist in plans to extend it to become a global mobile platform. 


A City official said, “LG CNS, Kakao Corp., and Busan City will strive to revitalize IT Contents projects in the Busan region and to advance the local economy with mutual cooperation.
