The Busan Nakdong River Project Management Office has opened a sledding slope at the public outdoor swimming pool at Hwamyeong Ecological Park in Buk-gu. The slope will be open to sledders through February 14, 2016.
The artificial snow slope allows visitors to enjoy sledding into early spring. The slope itself is 81 meters long, 18 meters wide and 7 meters high and will provide a safe, entertaining experience for the whole family.
Opening hours are from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. on weekends and public holidays. The price is 5,000 won for adults, 4,000 won for youths and 3,000 won for children.
Visitors also can enjoy Korean traditional folk plays for free and rent a bicycle for 20 minutes for 4,000 won.
To get to the toboggan slope by metro, get off at Sujeong Station (Line 2) and then walk about ten minutes toward the Nakdong riverside. By bus, take Bus Nos. 15, 59, 111 or 121. Free parking is also available for those going there by car.
As an all year round family oriented theme park, the Hwamyeong Outdoor Swimming Pool will be used as a water park in the hot summer months, as a skating rink and sledding grounds in the winter, and as an outdoor stage and cafeteria in the spring and fall.
