Busan City
announced that the Dongnae Eupseong History Festival and the Gwangalli Eobang
Festival, hosted by Dongnae-gu and Suyeong-gu respectively, have been selected
as Korea’s up-and-coming festivals in 2016 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports
and Tourism.
The
Ministry selected 43 cultural tourism festivals in four categories: 3 Premier
Festivals, 7 Top Festivals, 10 Outstanding Festivals, and 23 Up-and-Coming
Festivals in 2016.
The
Ministry will actively support these festivals in a wide variety of areas,
including overseas promotion. The Dongnae Eupseong History Festival has been
selected as Korea’s up-and-coming festival for two years in a row.
Busan City
expects that the two festivals will enhance our city image and revitalize local
economies and tourism in Korea this year.
The
Gwangalli Eobang Festival will be held in May at Gwangalli Beach, while the
Dongnae Eupseong History Festival will be held in October around the Dongnae
Eupseong area.
