“Fly the Korean flag” campaign to run from October 1 until October 9.

To commemorate the various national holidays and memorial days in October and to encourage feelings of patriotism among the local population, Busan City will run a “Fly the Korean flag” campaign from October 1 until 9.

 

The memorial days and national holidays in October are:

October 1 - Armed Forces Day

October 3 - National Foundation Day and Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving Day)

October 5 - Busan Citizens’ Day

October 9 - Hangul Day (Korean Alphabet Day)

 

Busan City government has requested that Busan’s citizens and Busan-based companies fly the Korean flag continuously from October 1 until 9 from their houses and buildings except during severe weather. Also, to encourage citizens’ participation, the city will fly dozens of big and small Korean flags from Busan City Hall and from street lights lining the main streets in Busan.
