The Mt. Geumjeong administration team installed high performance binoculars at observation decks on Mt. Geumjeong, on September 16.

Hikers can now view the beautiful landscape of Busan in more detail through the binoculars, which have been installed at Godanbong (Peak) and Paribong (Peak) for free. These locations offer panoramic views over the beautiful tree-covered mountains and beyond, to Geumsaem and the North Gate, and to Gwangan Bridge, the Nakdong River and the distant Gimhae Plain.

The city is also planning to consider placing additional binoculars in response to popular demand by the citizens.

Mt. Geumjeong, located in the heart of the city and the largest and highest mountain in Busan, has long been a place of enjoyment for Busan citizens. Recently, as people have become more health conscious and environmentally aware, visitor numbers have been increasing. This is why we decided to install the high performance binoculars to provide visitors with a more enjoyable experience of the mountain“, said a city official, who added, “We expect that Mt. Geumjeong will become an even more popular tourist attraction in the future with its wonderful hiking trails.”

The city has also improved trails and installed various items of equipment, such as a dust eliminator, for the safety and convenience of hikers on Mt. Geumjeong.

According to the local meteorological agency, the autumn foliage on Mt. Geumjeong will peak between the end of October and the beginning of November, and many hikers are expected to visit the mountain during this time.
