Dear Mayor
The Fifth International Conference of Aquapolises (ICAP) is scheduled to be held in the city of Busan from May 21 to 23, 2008. As Mayor of the host city, I cordially invite you and experts in the field of water and greenery to the conference in Busan.
The first ICAP was held in 1990 in Osaka, the second in Shanghai in 1993, the third in Piraeus in 1997, and the fourth in Osaka in 2003 to promote the exchange of ideas among citizens, experts, and scholars of aquapolises. Participants from ICAP member cities, which have each established their own unique history and landscape with water and greenery, come together to discuss ways to renovate our cities and to respect each other's identity so that these cities will lead the civilization of the 21st century.
With the theme "For a Sustainable Aquapolis", the 2008 Busan conference will be a good opportunity to exchange ideas, identify problems facing us, and come up with measures to tackle them.
In Expert Group Meetings, experts, administrators and researchers will deal with topics related to water and greenery. I look forward to welcoming your delegation.
I am confident that the Fifth ICAP will help promote exchange of information, greater cooperation, and a deepening of our friendship.

Registration Information
1. Busan Metropolitan City covers the expenses of meetings, accommodation and city transportation for three delegates for three days.
2. The cost of international airfare and travel to other cities must be met by the delegation.
3. You are kindly requested to send Registration form 1 or 2 to the Busan Secretariat of ICAP by the end of September 2007.
4. Upon receiving the form, the Busan Secretariat of ICAP will inform you of conference details and necessary documents.
