The Busan Museum’s international exchange exhibition “The Culture of the Russian Primorye from Antiquity to Modernity” will be held from September 16 - November 16.

‘Primorye’ means maritime province in Russian. The exhibition will not only feature 576 excavated artifacts from Russia’s maritime province, but also display 36 artifacts from areas of cultural significance from Hamgyeongbuk-do in order to shine a light on the relationship between the maritime province and the Korean Peninsula.

This exhibit will be a good chance for people to learn about the history and culture of some forgotten northern areas such as Balhae, Okru, Eupru, Malgal and Yeojin through the featured relics of Russia’s maritime province from the prehistoric age to the modern age. The exhibit should also help visitors recognize the importance of understanding the history and culture of Russia’s maritime province in order to better understand Korean history.
