2014 Foreigner Talent Show to Be Held on October 1

To commemorate the 568th Hangul Proclamation Day, the Busan Foundation for International Activities (BFIA) will host the “2014 Foreigner Talent Show in Korean” on October 1, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the auditorium at the Global Village in Seomyeon. 


The Foreigner Talent Show will be performed in Korean and cover the three categories of speaking, play and performance, and also include side events such as a Korean quiz contest, a congratulatory performance, and a prize lottery. The show aims to help foreign residents understand Korean culture and motivate them in their Korean language studies.  


Contest Guidelines:

‘Speaking’ - Individual participants present a topic of their choice for three minutes.

‘Play’ - Teams of two to five people perform a play up to five minutes in length in a dialog, drama, TV show, parody or comedy format.

‘Performance’ - Individual participants or teams play or perform K-pop songs, dances or Korean traditional musical instruments for up to five minutes.   


Any foreign national in Busan who has reference from a Busan-based university, foreign school or institute related to supporting foreigners is eligible to apply.


The Korean quiz contest will consist of true or false and short-answer questions about Korean language and culture. It is open to the first 100 people that apply.   


Grand prize winners in each category will receive 1,000,000 won along with an award certificate. Prize money will be awarded to the winners of the Korean quiz contest and Cheering events. All participants will also receive a souvenir from the BFIA and will be eligible to receive lottery gifts.
