The
City of Busan celebrated the launching of the Yonghoman Cruise with a ceremony
at Yonghoman Cruise Port on November 10, 2014, at 11 am with about 200
participants including Busan Mayor Suh Byeong-soo, Chairman of Busan
Metropolitan Council and members of the Busan National Assembly.
To
promote the Yonghoman Bay area as a new marine tourism attraction, the city
designated Samjoo Co.,Ltd. as a cruise operator last November. Samjoo has built
three 100-seat capacity luxury cruise ships and began operations this month.
Yonghoman Port serves as the base of operations for the cruise tourism
business.
The
regular operation of three cruise ships, five times daily with a variety of
short and long distance courses, along the coastlines of Busan is expected to
provide unique and various things to see and enjoy.
The
Yonghoman Bay area will be promoted as a new marine tourism attraction and be
used to revitalize local tourism and aid
in marketing the city to domestic and foreign tourists alike.
The
Yonghoman cruise ship named Maidas720 is a steam-and-sail-driven luxury ship, and
was built using domestic techniques.
The
92-seat large scale cruise ship (72 feet high, B1 – 2F) has various facilities
