The City of Busan held an opening ceremony for the Marine Finance Center on November 10. The Marine Finance Center made up of the Export-Import Bank of Korea, Korea Development Bank and Korea Trade Insurance Corporation, is located on the first floor of the Busan International Finance Center (BIFC).
Since the center’s opening on September 29, 2014, it has housed 77 professionals specializing in marine finance. Employment figures are expected to climb past 100 in the new year as the center strengthens its position as the country’s marine finance hub.
The Marine Finance Center is expected to revitalize the overall marine industry in Busan and also contribute to the advancement of the Busan and Gyeongnam areas, where the marine industrial base is integrated. In addition, it will strengthen the role of Busan as a financial hub of marine and derivative products.
