Electronic ‘Hi-Pass’ toll collection system to be introduced on Gwangan Bridge on March 24, offering ‘Hi-Pass’-equipped vehicles a 10% discount.
The ‘Hi-Pass’ automatic toll charging system will be introduced on Gwangan Bridge from March 24. Hi-Pass enables ‘Hi-Pass’-equipped vehicles to pay tolls without having to stop at tollgates.
Busan Metropolitan City Facilities Management Authority (BFMA) is installing the ‘Hi-Pass’ system in both directions at the Suyeong River and Bexco tollgates.
An upgraded ‘Hi-Pass’ system, which incorporates an automatic recharge system and a deferred-payment system, is planned to be installed in May. A 10% discount on toll charges will be given to ‘Hi-Pass’-equipped vehicles.
The BFMA installed the ‘Hi-Pass’ system on the Dongseo Elevated Highway last year and is now expanding its usage. Among toll bridges across the country, Gwangan Bridge will be the first to install the ‘Hi-Pass’ system.
