A founding committee for the Busan-China Froum, composed of members from the region's academia, research institutes, and businesses said Tuesday that it will hold an inaugural general meeting at the City Hall this Friday.
The Forum is designed to make a study of the Chinese economy, and help the region's policy makers to formulate strategies to make inroads into the emerging market.
The membership of the Forum involves over 300 members from the academia including Pusan National University, Silla University, and Korea Maritime University, reseach institutes such as the Busan Development Institute, and the business community including the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).
By holding meetings regularly, the Forum aims at making the members share information, knowledge, and a network in such a way as to help the businesses advance into the Chinese market.
It also intends to boost the regional economy by developing human resources through projects concerned with China, and seeking ways to defuse the youth unemployment crisis.
