A huge four-season tourist resort complex, including a 117-story skyscraper hotel (photo), will open in the vicinity of Haeundae Beach.Busan Cityand Busan Metropolitan Corporation announced that they selected Cheongan Construction Consortium as the winning bidder of the project on Nov. 2. The construction is scheduled to start in December 2008 and is slated to be completed by the end of 2013. The resort consists of the 117-story building (511 meters) and an 85-story building (396 meters), which occupies 49,900 square meters.
When completed, the complex is expected to be the tallest building in Busan, and the world's top 10 in terms of height and the number of stories.
The resort will house a hotel, the Ocean View Spa (4,359 square meters), which has a view of Haeundae Beach, the Water Park(49,891 square meters), which features a year-round subtropical experience, a marine animal show hall (14,894 square meters) and a four-dimensional underwater observatory that will display Haeundae's marine life.
The resort project is dubbed "Triple Square," in an aim to bring "the sky, the earth and the sea" together in the magnificent venue on Haeundae Beach.
