Architectural Design for Busan International Foreign School Selected

The architectural design for Busan International Foreign School was chosen on 22 November.

 

The architectural firm, Sangji ENA, has beaten five other firms to be selected by Busan City government as the winner of the design competition.

 

The Busan International Foreign School, which is intended primarily for children of foreigners living in Busan, is scheduled to open in August 2009 on 30,000 m2 of land in Nae-ri, Gijang-eup, Gijang-gun. School facilities will include 2 buildings for 36 classes for students between kindergarten and high school, a gym, a soccer field, 2 smaller multi-purpose sports grounds and a swimming pool.

The construction, financed by the central government (10 billion won), the city government (27.8 billion won) and Gijang-gun Office (3 billion won), is planned to start in April next year and be completed in May 2009.
