Tourism organization opens its doors

The Busan Tourism Organization, now in charge of tourism initiatives, has officially opened for business. Tourism has been a long-cherished business of Busan, and with the tourism organization, Busan has prepared a stepping stone to becoming a luxury tourism city.


 

The tourism organization will work on tourism industry development, tourism marketing in Korea and other countries, developing tourism resources, operating Arpina Youth Hostel and Busan City Tour Bus, MICE industry development, fostering tourism talents, and promoting the Busan City consignment business.


 

The first CEO of the Busan Tourism Organization is Yeom Kyeong-seob, former vice president of the Korea Tourism Organization. Yeom is a veteran in the tourism industry who has served as Singapore office head, New York office head, tourism technology department head, management department head and senior adviser in Korea Tourism Organization for the past 30 years.


 

As the Busan Convention and Visitors Bureau employees joined the office on December 1, 2012, the new organization is picking up speed. In January 2013, Arpina Youth Hostel and Busan City Tour employees will join the organization, and by recruiting new workers, it will fully transform into a public organization with 124 employees.
